It’s a little like school Facebook, but completely secure and each class has a separate section.
We ❤️ Class Dojo, but please note that it should only be used for classroom based quick queries. For anything important, sensitive or timely please still email the office to ensure an appropriate response. Please also note that the team will not be able to respond on Class Dojo before 8.15am or after 5pm during school days. They are also understandably committed with your children throughout the school day, but do try and keep tabs on it.

Stories
Stories are instantly updating streams of messages, pictures and videos similar to a social media-style timeline. Every class and school has their own Story, all of which are shared home with all parents/carers. Class Story helps teachers to share photos, messages, updates with all families connected to their class, whilst the School Story regularly shares Community News, along with a Weekly Round Up from Mrs T on a Friday.
Messages
Messages allow teachers and parents to instantly message each other, without needing to share phone numbers or contact details. Messages can be translated into 30+ different languages, and “Quiet Hours” lets teachers set away times so parents know when they are not available. Messages sent out of hours will not be seen by the teacher until the next working day. Our quiet hours are before 8.15am, and after 5pm. You are welcome to message in our quiet times, but please note that you will not get a response.
Dojo Points
Teachers use Class Dojo to promote positive behaviours in their classroom. Each child gets a monster avatar, and teachers can award Dojos for things such as staying on task, showing excellent manners, fantastic teamwork or brilliant homework.
Children can choose to save their Dojos and spend them on bigger prizes/experiences or spend them straight away for smaller rewards/experiences. Children across the school are actively involved in setting up prizes and experiences for the Dojo shop….they love spending their Dojos, as you can see!
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU AS A PARENT/CARER?
Connecting with your child’s teacher on ClassDojo will allow you to do the following:
- Review the last two weeks of points your child received
- Safely message with your child’s teacher (privately)
- Safely message with the Head of School or the SENDCo (privately)
- View, like, and comment on the pictures and/or videos that your child’s teacher posts to Class Story
- View community news and whole school news posted to School Story
You will receive a unique email that will allow you to connect to your child’s class and teacher. Once you have created a parent account, teachers will be able to send you a unique code or link for your child’s account that will give them access to a pupil account, Class Story and School Story.
Class Dojo can be used on any device – it’s a simple, free mobile app for iOS and Android (please do not pay for upgraded version), and can also be accessed from your computer at classdojo.com.
