Religious Education – The Right to Withdraw

We respect parents and guardians legal right to withdraw their child from Religious Education and World Views (RE/WV).

Should a parent/guardian formally request that their child be withdrawn from RE/WV, we will endeavour to communicate clearly the place of this subject within a broad and balanced curriculum to ensure that they are in possession of all the necessary information before confirming their decision in writing. However, we will not attempt to persuade them to alter their decision.

We will discuss with parents/guardians how best to accommodate the withdrawal, while maintaining the child’s safety and wellbeing. Schools are not required to provide alternative teaching during this time.
