Welcome to Year 6
Year 6 is a real celebration of the children’s time at Sherborne Abbey school, and culminates in our fabulous residential to Pendarren House (nr. Crickhowell) – which is amazing.

🌄 Year 6 Residential Adventure – Brecon Beacons
Each year, our Year 6 pupils embark on an unforgettable residential to Pendarren House Outdoor Education Centre, nestled in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park. This week-long adventure is designed to challenge, inspire and build independence as children take part in a range of exciting outdoor activities.
From caving beneath ancient rock formations to canoeing across serene Welsh waters, pupils push their boundaries and discover new strengths. They’ll climb mountains, navigate through orienteering challenges, and gather around campfires under starry skies, sharing stories and building lifelong memories.
This residential is more than just a trip—it’s a celebration of resilience, teamwork and personal growth. By the end of the week, children return with greater confidence, stronger friendships, and a sense of achievement they’ll carry into their final year of primary school and beyond.
